HEMPFIELD TWP. – The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette Inc., a nonprofit organization that operates employment, education and training programs, recently welcomed Nancy Austin as the vice president of business relations. Austin was previously director of home and community services at accessAbilities Inc. in Murrysville. She brings 32 years of experience to PIC.

“We are excited to have Nancy as part of our executive team,” said PIC CEO and president Shujuane L. Martin. “She not only brings experience but also compassion for the work that we deliver to our communities.”

While at accessAbilities, Austin was known for her problem-solving abilities and knowledge of regulations. Prior health care roles included home health, hospice, and administrator for long-term care residences.

As the VP of business relations, Austin will oversee internal and external relations with staff, customers and businesses across all service areas. It is her goal to ensure that PIC continues to maintain and build effective working relationships with all stakeholders and to identify and develop business opportunities that will continue to maximize the benefits to the customers of the Private Industry Council.

“I strive to consistently demonstrate reliability, accountability and respect for others,” Austin said. “Building strong, mutually beneficial relationships with clients, partners and stakeholders is essential for long-term success. Prioritizing open communication, trust and understanding helps create value for all parties.”

Austin earned her Bachelor of Science from Chapman University in business economics with an emphasis in human resources. Her leadership skills and compassion combined with industry expertise will allow her to focus on service delivery, performance and excellence to meet contractual, compliance, program, client and financial goals.

Austin enjoys reading, walking and spending time in the mountains with her husband.
