Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette Inc. (PIC), funded by the Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board, announced earlier this week that it is now enrolling participants for its Re-Entry Mentoring Program.
Applications are available at the PIC offices located in Hempfield Township and Lemont Furnace, and pre-applications are posted on the PIC website at privateindustrycouncil.com under “Workforce Development.” Interested parties can also contact Amy Goulding, program manager, for more information.
PIC will offer a Re-Entry Mentoring Program to young adults who are 18-24 years of age, reside in Westmoreland or Fayette counties, and were recently incarcerated or have been involved with the judicial system and are finding themselves having difficulty navigating the complexities surrounding their reentry into society.
For the past three years, PIC has provided reentry services to nearly 100 individuals with positive results. Participants received one-on-one mentoring services, assistance with overcoming personal barriers through goal attainment, and finding employment or enrolling in to training programs.
PIC has been providing quality services to youth and adults in area counties for over 40 years. Some of its workforce and education programs include EARN (Employment Advancement and Retention Network), DADS MATTER, Experience Works!, Youth CDL and various Career Readiness camps.
PIC has also been providing services in Westmoreland County Prison for over 20 years, guiding individuals toward earning GEDs while incarcerated.
