The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. (PIC) is having an Open House event for veterans living in Westmoreland County. This event will be held at the Private Industry Council Corporate Office located at 219 Donohoe Road, Greensburg, Pa. on October 17th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

PIC has two grants- $193,034.50 from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry and $150,000 from the Benedum Foundation, that were used to establish the Veterans Employment Program (VEP) and AgVets Project.

Both programs focus on providing tuition-free credentialed training in Heavy Equipment Operation or obtain a Commercial Driver’s License.

Both grants will fund training for a total of 56 Veterans in the Westmoreland and Fayette County Area. Program participants will receive case management and supportive career services from PIC, including Career Pathways classes, stipends, assessments, employment information, and more.
