PIC Board Member, Mayor Dwan B. Walker, named 2026 Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association Mayor of the Year

We are proud to congratulate our Board Member, Mayor Dwan B. Walker, on being named the 2026 Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association Mayor of the Year. Since first being elected taking office, Mayor Walker has provided visionary leadership to the City of Aliquippa, becoming the city’s first African American mayor and leading the community through more than a decade of transformation, revitalization, and strategic progress. Under his leadership, Aliquippa successfully emerged from Pennsylvania’s Act 47 financially distressed status after nearly 36 years—a significant milestone that reflects his commitment to sound governance, collaboration, and long-term community investment.
Mayor Walker has brought this same dedication and strategic perspective to the Board of Directors of the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, where his leadership, thoughtful guidance, and unwavering commitment to public service continue to strengthen our organization and advance our mission.
On behalf of our Board of Directors, staff, and stakeholders, we extend our sincere congratulations to Mayor Walker on this well-deserved recognition. Being named the 2026 Pennsylvania State Mayors’ Association Mayor of the Year is a fitting tribute to his exceptional service, steadfast leadership, and lasting contributions to the residents of Aliquippa, Beaver County, and communities across the Commonwealth.
Please join us in congratulating Mayor Walker on this outstanding achievement.
