There’s nothing quite like a beautiful new playground. Whether you’re a child or just a kid at heart, playgrounds inspire excitement, provide an opportunity to get outdoors, and a space to learn and grow. Kids need to develop their muscles and exercise as much as they need to improve their minds. The PIC Kidz Zone playground at the Greensburg office is currently under construction. Once complete, it will be 3100 square feet of fun and excitement for children ages 6 months to 5 years old.

The 6 months to 3-year-old section of the playground will be all turf, featuring an Exploration Station and Sensory Station. Shapes, colors, movement, games and more will bring learning to children in this younger age group and help them develop sensory and motor skills that provide the baseline for future development. Sensory and Exploration Stations provide age-appropriate development for the important early childhood years and help children learn through play.

The 3-5-year old section of the playground will have a large play structure featuring two exciting sliding boards, a challenging rock-climbing wall, an observation deck with a ship’s wheel, and a lemonade stand. The safety surface around the play structure will be recycled rubber mulch and will also have a large grass area for running and having fun in the sun.

In addition to the equipment and different play surfaces there will be a 14’ X 22’ shade structure. With this large shade structure, children will be able to play longer, allowing them to have more fun while staying active. Shade structures typically keep spaces 20 degrees cooler for children to play and stay cool while outdoors.
