From September 23–25, 2025, workforce professionals from across Pennsylvania gathered in Scranton for the PWDA Workforce Leaders Symposium — a dynamic event focused on equipping leaders with the tools, strategies, and insights needed to build a more resilient and adaptable workforce.

Hosted by the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association (PWDA), the symposium brought together thought leaders, practitioners, and partners to explore pressing workforce challenges and future opportunities. From strengthening employer partnerships to aligning education with evolving industry needs, the sessions offered practical guidance and inspiration for driving long-term impact in our communities. Dr. Alberta Lloyd, provided the keynote address “Great leaders Not Only Run The Race, but They Set The Pace.

The discussions were both thought-provoking and action-oriented, providing PIC’s Workforce division with valuable tools and fresh perspectives to carry forward on future proofing the workforce and leading with hope. The event also reinforced the power of collaboration — showcasing the collective commitment across the state to preparing workers and communities for lasting success. We’re excited to bring these insights back to our work and continue building a stronger workforce for Pennsylvania’s future.
