From April 30 to May 2, 2025, the Workforce Division of the Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette, Inc. gathered in Hershey, Pennsylvania, with professionals from across the Commonwealth for the annual Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association (PWDA) Conference. This event is vital for exploring innovative workforce strategies, exchanging ideas, and forging stronger partnerships to build a more inclusive and resilient labor market. Attendees had the opportunity to engage with regional leaders, participate in hands-on workshops, and explore policy updates that will shape the future of workforce development. Key themes included expanding access to training, leveraging data for equitable outcomes, strengthening industry partnerships, and aligning workforce systems to meet evolving economic demands. One of the highlights was the introduction of the Workforce Phoenix Award, recognizing dedicated professionals serving students, job seekers, workers, and employers across Pennsylvania. As Pennsylvania continues to navigate changing economic times and complex regulations, the PWDA Conference underscored the importance of collaboration and innovation in advancing workforce development goals. It was a powerful reminder that when workforce, education, and industry leaders work together, they can drive real change for job seekers, employers, and communities.
