Welcome to Southmoreland Pre-K Counts!!! We are located at Southmoreland Elementary School in Scottdale, PA. Our Pre-K Counts classroom is dedicated to the development of the children we service. We accept children ages three to five and help with their transition to Kindergarten. When children attend our program, they are fortunate to have a similar experience that they will encounter when they go to Kindergarten. At our school, the children eat breakfast and lunch in the cafeteria, go to library and gym class, learn in a classroom with ample learning tools to aid in all areas of development, and play in a fenced in playground to bring the learning environment outside!
We’ve been at this location since November 2014. Southmoreland School District and the Scottdale community have welcomed us from day one as being a part of the school and making our classroom feel as one within the school and community. We take pride in the relationships we build with not only our students in class, but their families as well.

Southmoreland Pre-K Counts had a recent visitor from PA Keys…. Starman!! Starman is an ambassador for prekforpa.org. Starman was sent out to help Pennsylvania Early Educators to get the word out on how important early education is and how much fun it is too! He joined our class on some awesome adventures during his time with us! The kids welcomed him with open arms and had to share times to play with him in all our center areas. He matched letters, read books, played in the treehouse, explored outside, went on the playground, and more! Our classroom had a blast with Starman! Having him come into our room has opened up discussion about the Pre-K Counts program with other children and staff in the school, along with parents and the community! It was great to have him with us and to have another resource on promoting early childhood education.

Come enjoy some time at Southmoreland Pre-K Counts and everything we have to offer for your children and your family!
