On May 13, 2023, PIC’s Workforce Development Board Drone grant students and our Department of Agriculture Drone grant students had the opportunity to attend a fieldtrip to Derry Area School District’s Agriculture and Horticulture Complex.

The students got the experience to learn how drones are used in the agriculture field for things such as soil tests and spreading seeds.

The students also got to tour the facility, have lunch, and fly their drones over Frye Farm.

This allowed the students to see the entire farm and look for the things they were taught prior to flight.

We look forward to more opportunities like this in the future. If your student is interested in the drone program for the 23-24 school year, please contact our Youth Programs Supervisor, Samantha Nicholson at:slnicholson@privateindustrycouncil.com
