The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland/Fayette Inc. is gearing up for the Experience Works! Program of 2019. Do you know someone between the ages of 16 and 24 that is looking to work locally and make $9.00 per hour?  If so, send them to PIC!

This program is focused around both in school and out of school young adults that are looking to build their resumes and gain work skills needed to succeed in life and to enter into the workforce. The program allows for students to work in their communities in places such as local libraries, courthouse, theater and arts centers as well as local municipalities, police stations and schools.

Experience Works! is a program that includes 300 hours of work experience as well as six sessions of career exploration. The six career exploration sessions give young adults hands on opportunities to explore different industries of work within their area as well as individualized assistance in building a career pathway and the step necessary to obtain it. Participants will have the opportunity to experience what if feels like to sit in an 18 wheel truck, talk to professionals in different industries like gas and oil, learn how to build a road from the future road builder’s app among many more career exploration opportunities. This is all while earning $9.00 an hour!

This program also provides the opportunity for local businesses to become a worksite. By being a worksite, this allows your business to guide local young adults in the workforce while bringing awareness of your business or industry to our future workforce by introducing them to what it takes to become a valued employee.

The program is enrolling NOW.  Join our Experience Works! team, by calling 724-836-2600.

This program is funded through the Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board.
