The Private Industry Council’s Veterans Programs are well underway.  We had our first set of BPI (Building Analyst Program) Veterans successfully complete their program. They are well on their way to better jobs, better salaries and job security.  In this particular program, all Veterans enrolled successfully passed their exam and some have gone on to extend their knowledge in a HVAC Program at Fayette CTI.

Opportunities with the AgVets Grant:

  1. CDL A with Hazardous Material and Tanker Endorsements @ Douglas Education Center

Day classes Monday – Thursday- 8:30 – 4:30 Starting December 12th for 7 weeks

Evening and Weekend Classes: Tuesday – Thursday 6:00pm – 10:00pm and Saturday 7:30am – 5:00pm starting on January 30th, 2023 for 10 weeks

Locations: Choose between two locations: Monessen and Connellsville

  1. Heavy Equipment Operation @ Douglas Education Center

Day Classes Monday – Thursday 8:30 – 12:30 and 1:00 – 4:30. Starting December 12th for 5 weeks

  1. Butchering– To be announced.

In addition to the classes there is an On The Job Training (OJT) 40 hours at 12.00 dollars an hour at a local butcher.

 

PIC Veterans Employment Program Grant:

  1. CDL A with Hazardous Material and Tank Vehicle Endorsements @ Douglas Education Center

Day classes Monday – Thursday- 8:30 – 4:30

Starts on December 12th for 7 weeks.

Evening and Weekend: Tuesday – Thursday- 6:00pm – 10:00pm and Saturday 7:30am – 5:00pm

Starts on January 17th for 10 weeks.

Locations: Choose between two locations: Monessen or Connellsville

  1. Welding @ Laurel Business Institute Day Classes Monday – Thursday- 11:00 – 4:00 starts January 30th for

10 weeks

  1. Building Analyst @ Penn State and BPI

Day Classes @ Penn State- 8:00 – 4:30- February 27th and 28th, 2023

Lab Classes @ BPI 8:00 – 4:30 March 1st, 2nd and 3rd, 2023- 1-week course with certification.

The participants must pass a Multiple-Choice Test and a Field Test.
