There is something satisfying about helping those in need who are working toward turning their lives around and building stronger relationships with their families. My name is Tishala M. Cooley, and as the Project Supervisor of Private Industry Council’s DADS MATTER Program, I can say that this program has changed many lives of fathers and their families within the communities we serve. The DADS MATTER Program serves Westmoreland, Fayette, Washington and Beaver Counties, and has made positive effects in many fathers/father figures lives as well as their families. Our program is designed to empower fathers/father-figures to shape their children’s lives and enhance their relationships. It is also designed to improve the financial well-being so that they can be the BEST they can for themselves and their families.

The DADS MATTER Program also provides financial supportive services toward a diverse range of workforce skills trades, including CDL Class A. Since March 2025, the DADS MATTER Program has assisted 8 fathers/father figures in successfully obtaining their CDL License through All-State Career School. Fathers/father figures have also attended classes with community partners including Douglas Education Center, Penn-Commercial, and Fayette CTI who offer credentialed training courses such as CDL, Electrical, HVAC and Welding. The DADS MATTER Team has touched the lives of over 1,000 fathers/father figures from September 2020 to date. This success would not have been possible without the ongoing and continuous support and referrals from internal programs and community agencies.

THANK YOU!
