The Private Industry Council of Westmoreland / Fayette Inc. (PIC) is celebrating 40 years of offering youth programs in Westmoreland/Fayette counties.  To celebrate this milestone, PIC is welcoming all youth to their Youth Open House events to learn more about all PIC youth programs, to have the opportunity to sign-up, and enjoy a light refreshment on April 17th from 4pm to 6 pm at the PIC Corporate Office, 219 Donohoe Road, Greensburg, PA or the PIC Lemont Furnace office located at 112 Commonwealth Drive, in addition to May 3rd at Monessen Family Center from 8 am to 3 pm.

PIC’s longest standing program includes the youth summer work program, formerly known as Experience Works! The Experience Works! Program, a no-cost program funded by the Westmoreland-Fayette Workforce Investment Board, is now enrolling youth/young adults ages 15-24.  The program will pay $13.00 per hour while providing youth/young adults with opportunities to develop their career readiness skills and participate in meaningful work-based learning programs while working with local employers throughout Westmoreland and Fayette counties.

The other available youth/young adult programs include: Youth CDL training (ages 18-24), In School Drone Education (ages 16-18), Drone Pilots-in-Training Summer Camp (ages 15-18), Cyber Security Camp (for Fayette County only ages 15-18), Manufacturing 365 Summer camp (ages 16-18) Bring Your ‘A’ Game summer camp (for youth grades 6-8), and the Monessen Afterschool and Summer Program (for youth grades 3-5).

Applications are available at the PIC offices located in Greensburg and Lemont Furnace, PA and pre-applications are posted on the PIC website at: www.privateindustrycouncil.com/youth-services/. Interested parties can also contact 724-836-2600 to apply.
