Middle school age youth from Westmoreland County participated in the Bring Your ‘A’ Game Middle School Summer Camp where they learned foundational workplace skills. The summer camp works with youth on gaining an understanding of the long-term benefits of work ethic; which sets the foundation for personal and professional success. Throughout the summer camp, youth learn the seven A’s from the Bring Your ‘A’ Game curriculum. The seven A’s are Attitude, Attendance, Appearance, Ambition, Accountability, Acceptance and Appreciation.
During the eight-day summer camp, youth heard from guest speakers, attended field trips and got to experience excellent lessons that accompanied each ‘A’. One field trip the campers attended was to the Penn State Extension Culinary Arts Center where they made homemade brownies and meatball subs. Campers had a great time learning how to make the food!
Not only did the campers take a field trip to the Culinary Arts Center, but they got to experience flying drones. Campers were given the opportunity to learn how drones operate and how to fly one.
It was a great camp for all those involved. Remember to always Bring Your ‘A’ Game!
