On May 22nd, Head Start/Early Head Start of Beaver County hosted its annual End-of-Year Event at The Lodge at Brady’s Run. This special occasion celebrated our families and offered enriching educational experiences for our children. It also provided families the opportunity to engage with local resources and community support services.

Each Head Start and Early Head Start classroom contributed to the event with creative, age-appropriate educational activities. From interactive learning stations to an exciting scavenger hunt, the two-hour celebration was filled with smiles, laughter, and meaningful connections.

Of the 294 children enrolled in our program, 237 attended, accompanied by 139 family members. Alongside 15 participating vendors and 62 dedicated staff members, total attendance reached 408.

We were honored to welcome 15 community vendors/resource agencies, all of whom generously donated raffle baskets filled with swag and informational materials. Combined with contributions from our program, we distributed a total of 33 raffle baskets to attending families.

This year marked our third collaboration with J&J Catering, whose outstanding service and food once again received glowing reviews. Families enjoyed picnic-style boxed meals that included:

  • Grilled hotdogs, hamburgers, and cheeseburgers (prepared fresh on-site)
  • French fries with a variety of toppings and condiments
  • Watermelon slices
  • Assorted beverages

The quality and freshness of the food added to the festive atmosphere, and we’re grateful for J&J Catering’s continued partnership.

Though we can’t control the weather, our staff and families responded with smiles, flexibility, and enthusiasm—making the day a bright and memorable one.

A heartfelt thank you to all staff, vendors, and volunteers who contributed to the success of this year’s event.
